Taekwondo
Taekwondo is a sport that is eligible for anyone at any age to participate in. It is a sport that can be used for fitness, fun or to be performed at competitions. Taekwondo competitions consist of 3 rounds that go for two minute duration and one minute rest(9).The point system is related to where the opponent is being hit;1 point for a hit to the torso, 2 points for a hit to the head and neck and 3 points for a knock out. Some main objectives of taekwondo are to develop an appreciation for Taekwondo as a sport and as an art, to achieve physical fitness through positive participation ,improve mental discipline and emotional equanimity, learn self-defence skills and finally to develop a sense of responsibility for one self and others. All three systems are demonstrated throughout taekwondo by the skills that are demonstrated in each action.
